Principles in Action®™
Standards for the cord blood banking industry
We have chosen to adopt a policy, "Principles in Action®," that is in line with the marketing code of the Pharmaceutical and Research Manufactures of America (the "PhRMA Code") and the American Medical Association Guidelines on gifts to physicians from industry (the "AMA Guidelines"). These standards-consistent with OIG (Office of Inspector General) guidance-establish a range of appropriate practices that help define proper interactions between healthcare companies and customers.
Although CBR is not a pharmaceutical manufacturer, we serve the needs of both physicians and families who rely on our services-services that could potentially help to provide life-saving treatment. We must, therefore, hold ourselves to the very highest standards.
"Principles in Action®"
CBR's policy, "Principles in Action®," reflects our voluntary compliance with marketing standards, as well as our adherence to laws and regulations to help us focus on:
- Providing appropriate unbiased education about the benefits of cord blood banking
- Communicating the appropriate use of our services
- Advancing scientific and educational activities
