Collection & Processing

CBR is the only family bank to offer the automated AXP AutoXpress processing system distributed exclusively by GE Healthcare®. Recently, the New York Blood Center, the largest public bank in the world, also moved to the AXP system after evaluating all other potential technologies for processing.

CBR's CellAdvantage® System
Superior Collection & Processing

FDA Cleared Processing Technology

CBR's CellAdvantage system has the highest cell recovery rate in the industry (99%), which is critical since the goal and value of your investment in family banking is to save as many cells as possible for your family. If the cells are needed, a higher volume of cells can result in improved treatment success. CBR's CellAdvantage system can process any collection regardless of volume. CellAdvantage features the automated, FDA-cleared AutoExpress (AXP) platform.

The charts below illustrate CBR’s superior cell recovery rates:

Proven Collection System

After your baby is born, your doctor will collect the cord blood using a syringe or gravity bag. With the syringe, the collection is similar to drawing blood for a blood test, while the bag uses gravity to collect the cord blood. The procedure usually takes less than 5 minutes.

CBR's collection methods are FDA compliant and designed to ensure your doctor is able to collect as much cord blood as possible. We use collection kits that are sterile and OSHA - (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) compliant to meet all hospital safety and regulatory guidelines.

In addition to the current uses, new medical applications for cord blood stem cells are being discovered rapidly; however, banking cord blood does not guarantee that the cells will provide a cure or be applicable for every situation.
